What:  Tour – Walk – Lunch on the Bluff  Behind the Scenes at the UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island
When: Wednesday, September 11, 10:00 – 12:30
Where:  Meet in lobby of the University of Georgia Aquarium at 10 am  30 Ocean Science Circle / Skidaway Island
Cost: $ 12 paid at the aquarium
What Else:  Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at the UGA Aquarium. We will explore the exhibits learning what it is like to care for our ambassador animals. The tour will be led by aquarium staff.  After, we will walk the John Wolf Nature Trail through the salt marsh and maritime forest.  Bring your lunch and we will eat together on the bluff overlooking the Savannah River.

What:  Tour of Georgia Historical Society Research Library, followed by a walk in Forsyth Park and lunch at a nearby restaurant
When: Wednesday, October 23, 2024, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where:  Meet at the Methodist Church at 9:00 and then on to the Georgia Historical Society, 501 Whitaker Street, Savannah
Cost: $ 15 at the Door, No Cost at Registration.  Lunch is paid by the individual

What Else:  We are fortunate to have Dr. W. Todd Groce, President and CEO of Georgia Historical Society, as we learn about the Society’s belief that “public knowledge of our past is fundamental to our future”. The GHS Research Center includes 5 million manuscripts, photographs, drawings, books, maps, and artifacts. We’ll also learn about the Society’s 300 historical markers in Georgia.

What:  Tour of Chatham County Recycling Center and lunch at Bowtie Barbeque
When: Wednesday, November 20, 2024, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where:  Meet at the Skidaway Methodist Church at 10:00 and we will drive to the Chatham County Recycling Center at 1321 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah.
Cost: Tour is Free.  Lunch is paid by the individual.

What Else:  Let’s find out what happens to the items we can recycle. The tour typically includes a walking tour of the facility and art gallery, then we’ll head into the classroom for a brief dive into the workings of local and national recycling efforts. Bring your questions!
